Deadpool and Wolverine will reappear in the MCU, says Feige

It’s finally happening! It’s November 12, which means Deadpool and Wolverine is streaming on Disney+. Luckily for fans of the Merc with a Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the film was released for streaming much earlier than the mid-December window some estimates indicate. It only took a few weeks after the digital release for Wonder bring Deadpool and Wolverine at Disney Plus.

Whether you plan to watch Deadpool and Wolverine for the first time at home, almost four months after its debut in theaters, or you are about to see it again, know that we have not finished seeing Wade Wilson and Logan in the MCU. It’s not just rumors and common sense that say so. We have confirmation from Kevin Feige himself that Marvel will bring Deadpool and Wolverine back in the future.

If you haven’t seen Deadpool and Wolverineand if you hate spoilers for new Marvel attractions, be aware that some minor spoilers will follow below.

This weekend we saw a lot of new stuff coming out of D23 Brazil. The list includes A Love at first sight* trailer which teases an explanation for the trailer and a brand new Captain America 4 trailer this seems to confirm a big plot leak. Separately we saw THE What if…? season 3 trailer before its release in mid-December.

It should come as no surprise to learn that Kevin Feige had to answer questions about Deadpool and Wolverine while in Brazil. Deadpool and Wolverine is the most successful Marvel film ever Multiverse saga so far. It’s the only Marvel movie to hit theaters this year.

While Deadpool 3 did not live up to the financial success of Spider-Man: No Way Homeit still made more money at the box office than other Marvel films Multiverse saga movies.

Deadpool and Wolverine ended its theatrical run with more than $1.3 billion in cash. No way home made almost $2 billion during its theatrical release, but it’s a Sony film.

Add to this the fact that Deadpool and Wolverine is a great story, and one would expect Marvel to make the most of it.

You’d want Marvel to bring back Deadpool and Wolverine for more adventures, and you’d expect both of these superheroes to appear in Avengers: Apocalypse and above all Avengers: Secret Wars down the road. This is rumored to happen, with Deadpool and Wolverine playing larger roles in the latter. Secret Wars will after all end up Multiverse saga.

Let’s not forget that we need to know why Thor (Chris Hemsworth) was crying in Deadpool 3. The only way to get that answer is to see more of Deadpool in the MCU. Additionally, the film tells us that the new version of Wolverine will remain in the main Deadpool reality. Therefore, we need to see more of Wolverine where Deadpool is.

Finally, there is a meta-joke in Deadpool and Wolverine on the future of Hugh Jackman in the MCU. Deadpool twice jokes that Disney will force Jackman to play Wolverine until he’s 90. Meanwhile, reports indicate that Jackman will return as Wolverine.

Feige has not confirmed these rumors. But he told the Brazilian blog Omelette that Marvel is considering using Deadpool and Wolverine in other places.

“Our plans with Deadpool and Wolverine will always be the same: we’re always wondering where we can integrate them and how quickly,” Kevin said, according to a translation of the message.

This is the best confirmation we can hope for at this stage of the Multiverse saga. This is much better than what Reynolds and Jackman had to say during the Deadpool and Wolverine press tour. They hilariously avoided answering questions about their future in the MCU beyond Deadpool 3.

Still, hearing Feige confirm that Marvel will bring back these two specific superheroes should be pretty exciting at the moment. While we wait we can see again Deadpool and Wolverine as many times as you want on Disney Plus.
