Small businesses gather at the opening of the Minot Indoor Winter Market at the mall

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – Holiday shopping can get more creative this winter with the opening of an indoor market at Dakota Square Mall in Minot.

Organizer Jennifer Hardisky, who is also a regular vendor at the farmers market, said she wanted to find an indoor space to continue selling her produce through the winter.

Last month, she managed to reach a deal with the mall to allow some small businesses to gather in what they consider an indoor winter market. Fast forward to Tuesday, about five groups of entrepreneurs secured a spot in the central area of the mall.

In the coming weeks, they will be displayed by Santa Land near JC Penney. You can find fresh produce, pastries, drinks and crafts.

“For me to be able to take a small business and make it prosper not only for me but for the people, it’s very rewarding,” Hardisky said.

Hardisky also owns Bearpaw’s Treats, where she sells baked goods for animals and humans.

For now, the winter market is expected to be open until December. It is open every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Those interested in selling their products can contact the Minot Tastes and Creations team on Facebook.
