Strictly Come Dancing pro fuels ‘repairs row’ as she lashes out at Chris McCausland | Television and radio | Showbiz and television

Strictly Come Dancing legend Ola Jordan has spoken out about his views on blind comedian Chris McCausland’s impressive chart performance and the opera singer. Wynne Evans managed to avoid expulsion once again.

Commenting on the judges’ controversial choice to save Wynne rather than Shayne during the dance match, she told Mecca Bingo: “It’s a tricky situation. »

“We have to start by fighting for everyone to have their own opinion. My opinion is always valid; everyone’s opinions are valid, so it depends on who is on that panel.

“I thought Shayne was too low in the rankings; he was in the bottom two, and the judges could say, well, people didn’t vote for him, which is okay, but he was still in the wrong place in the rankings to start with.

“When I look at the whole lineup, he had 30 points. He should have had more. I thought he should have had more than Chris. Chris had 33 points.”

Professional dancer Ola explained: “The leaderboard is also combined with people’s votes, so Shayne probably didn’t get as many votes, which is why he was in the bottom two.

“But let’s say Montell; she might still get the same votes as Shayne, but because she’s higher up in the rankings, she won’t go down to the bottom two.

“Last week I said he would be in the bottom two because he wouldn’t get many votes. He had the Rumba, which is a delicate dance.

“You can’t compare it to Couple’s Choice. With Chris and Dianne’s, there wasn’t a lot of technique.

“The Rumba is a much more difficult dance than the Couple’s Choice.

“Pete (Wicks) and Jowita made an incredible pairing choice, but it didn’t need to have straight legs and hip action.

“I think Shayne did a great job, and I wasn’t a fan of his dancing in previous weeks; I’ve always been pretty critical, but in this case I think he was too low in the rankings.

“So he had no chance of not being in the bottom two because we all knew he was already in the bottom two twice before; this was the third time.”

The mother-of-one revealed whether she thought the judges scored the contestants unfairly: “I think Shayne is probably up there with everyone because I think he did better than the leaderboard.

“He had a tough dance, but he did a great job. Chris was above him, and Sarah (Hadland) and Montell were above him. He did as good a job as Montell – and she got 36 points.”

The following week, she advised Chris, who was tied for sixth place in the standings: “He’s limited. I could see he was wrong in his choice of couple; he was wrong several times.

“That’s why I think he was too high in the rankings. Shayne went straight into his Rumba, while Chris was.”
