A woman who had to be thrown from her car after a drink-driving accident has been banned from the road.

Jennifer Alison Stewart, 40, of Ballakilley Road in Port St Mary, appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood at Douglas Courthouse.

She admitted getting behind the wheel of her Nissan Note while it was over the limit – it then crashed into a wall.

She was fined £1,200, ordered to pay £50 costs and banned from driving for two years.
