LG’s new curvy display technology can expand up to 50%

The new LG Display freeform screen technology can extend from 12 to 18 inches, with a resolution of 100ppi. The display also uses a sub-40 micrometer micro-LED light source, so it can apparently be stretched more than 10,000 times. While it probably won’t be your next smartphone, we could see the technology in clothing, car panels and more.

LG Display has been pushing the boundaries of screen technology for a while, revealing foldable screens before foldable phones appeared, rollable TVs before rollable TVs went on sale, and transparent screens before they appeared in fancy stores , theme parks and elsewhere. So expect to see this Bop-it of displays somewhere, Ultimately.

However, many have probably downgraded from a premium tier.

Netflix boasts that its ad-supported tier now has 70 million users worldwide. Amy Reinhard, president of advertising at Netflix, says the company continues to “see steady progress across all member countries.” But there is no information about existing customers. It’s very possible that many people have moved from a premium tier to an ad-supported tier.

Fujifilm is developing a 102-megapixel medium format cinema camera, the company said in a surprise announcement. Due next year, the GFX Eterna will feature a square, modular design reminiscent of Sony’s FX6. The new camera will feature a 102-megapixel (MP) GFX medium format HS CMOS II sensor, the same one used on the GFX100 II. This sensor measures 43.8mm x 32.9mm, which is 1.7 times larger than the FX’s full-frame sensor.

The benefits will be additional dynamic range, potentially high resolution and a very shallow depth of field, which should enable cinematic shots with the right lens. That said, Fujifilm does not currently offer any GFX glass specifically designed for film production. But it works on it.
