Sam – who won I’m A Celeb last year – has signed up to revive Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly’s sister show on ITV2.

However, nine days ago, his best friend and brother Louise was rushed for emergency surgery. after suffering from excruciating abdominal pain.

This means Sam will spend the next four weeks 10,000 miles from Louise, who he lives next door to.

Breaking her silence about her secret hospital stay, Louise said: “It’s World Kindness Day. The world feels like it’s been a little bit mean to me again.

“But today is a new day. And I hope that means home.”

“I really hate to say it, but I’m back in the hospital feeling terrible (I feel like the word “bad” deserves the onomatopoeia label – it all sounds like old people and fragile sick) As I say it, I feel like a grandmother blowing bubbles to find words. It sounds sick, as I did, even though I. I’m only 34 years old and I’m incredibly strong mentally and physically.

“I’m almost embarrassed at this point. BUT there is light. There have been beacons of kindness EVERYWHERE.”

“It was necessary because, oh my God, it was pretty scary to have my body loaded with so many foreign objects. I’m amazed I even managed to move with all of that at one point.

“I literally had a tail hanging out of me. Stitched in. In fact, I felt like an octopus with multiple legs or tubes (turns out a cannula with different entry points is also called an octopus ). Great minds. Or a great subconscious and my memory.

“Ahhh the joy of heavy opioids that got me through the worst. Thank God for poppies. Thank God for science. Thank God for modern medicine.”

Sam rushed to see doctors before his flight – as he begged doctors to provide him with sleeping pills.

Speaking on his Staying Relevant podcast, Sam said: “The timings are quite tricky because we’re obviously live in UK time.

“So in Australia we go to bed every day at 4 p.m. and wake up at midnight.

“Which is going to be wild.”

His podcast co-host Pete Wicks ” agreed and added, “Yes, you’re going to be all over the store and you don’t handle change well,” as Sam agreed: “Really not.

Pete – who is taking part in Strictly this year – continued: “You don’t deal well with change and what Sam said to me when he said that to me last week was ‘I just went to the doctor and I’m 24 years old.’ sleeping pills.'”

Sam laughed and said, “Just in case.”
