Kitchener residents charged after collision involving stolen vehicle

ERIN – Two Kitchener residents have been arrested and charged following a collision involving a stolen vehicle Tuesday morning.

Wellington County OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Trafalgar Road around 10 a.m. on Nov. 12 and discovered two occupants of a stolen vehicle involved in the crash had fled into a nearby wooded area.

The OPP Air Unit, Canine Unit and Emergency Response Unit, alongside other OPP officers, assisted in the search, which involved the closure of part of Wellington Highway 24, indicates an initial press release from the Provincial Police.

“Two individuals were subsequently located and taken into custody without incident,” police said in a Nov. 13 update.

Michael Dubrick, 31, of Kitchener, has been charged with:

  • driving while suspended;
  • possession of property obtained by crime (more than $5,000);
  • not stopping after an accident;
  • driving while prohibited;
  • dangerous driving; And
  • failing to comply with a release order.

Mary-Ann Grandy, 38, of Kitchener, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime (over $5,000).

Both were detained pending their bail hearing.
