The future of Bleach after the Blood War

Bleach’s Bloody Thousand Year War was the final major arc that many anime fans believed would end the shonen series. In recent years, creator Tite Kubo has returned with a new chapter in Bleach: no breath of hellwhich showed what Ichigo and Soul Society were doing after the fight against the Sternritter. At the time of writing, creator Tite Kubo has not committed to creating new manga stories in the Bleach universe, although things could always change.

In Bleach returning from the anime, Kubo worked in tandem with Studio Pierrot to not only adapt Blood War, but also add new scenes that were not originally part of the manga. One of the most notable examples is the Soul Society Royal Guard fighting against Yhwach’s main lieutenants, a battle that isn’t as present in the manga but has time to shine in the series lively. Should Bleach making a comeback with new stories after the bloody war, perhaps Kubo will team up with Pierrot to weave new stories that only take place in the anime. Bleach the resurgence is one that proved that the supernatural Shonen series still has a passionate fan base and that’s a good sign for the future.
