Considerations for companies bringing their master plants into the company

A teacher plant is a plant that can teach you a lesson. Through deep experience, these plants can give you visions, allow you to process trauma, connect you to nature, or provide insight into something that can be considered beneficial. For some, there is also a fine line between these lessons and fantasy, while recognizing that some fantasies can become reality if it weren’t for what some call suppressed societal norms.

These plants go deep – and, for the sake of this article, I’ll include the cactus and mycelium kingdoms under the plant umbrella. Colorado has decriminalized all natural medicines aside from Peyote (which rightly remains under the control of the Native American Church), including psilocybin in mushrooms, DMT in ayahuasca, and mescaline in wachuma – not to be not leave aside because the master plant is cannabis.

With the Colorado Natural Medicine Health Lawthe use of psilocybin mushrooms will be legal in a therapeutic setting starting in 2025, joining Oregon, which began legal use in 2023. Direct business opportunities outside of therapy centers and certain crops are limited.

However, ancillary businesses are in high demand due to the profound effects people have experienced with plants: retreat businesses, onboarding/preparation coaches, microdosing programs, community networks, researchers, media, conferences, legal services, etc. .

With the potential of these plants to become a fulcrum in Companyimpacting people’s lives, how can our businesses maintain the right relationship with plants so that they reach their highest expression in society, which could result in the greatest benefit?

This article will present more questions than answers as the conversation needs to take place, perhaps as at Eleusis, the site of the Eleusinian Mysteries in ancient Greece where Plato and Socrates may have used master plants to understand the world through a hallucinogenic and intellectual experience. conversations.

First of all, what is the highest expression these plants can have on our society? Is it to heal people’s trauma or find the root of PTSD in our society and fix it? Is it to bring people back into a deeper relationship and respect with Mother Earth or to make people feel more comfortable in the life they already live? Maybe it’s about ending the war on drugs and giving people the opportunity to profit from it? What about, as some say, decolonizing the mind, dissolving the ego, or simply making us better, more functional workers in society? What will drive this, science or spiritual/ceremonial use? Should we give the floor to Indigenous people, scientists or politicians? These are big questions; maybe it’s all or nothing.

The Rolling Stones Cultural Council is an invitation-only community for influencers, innovators and creatives. Am I eligible?

I often wonder if this is a movement or an industry. What I realized is that many truths must be held and although I believe no one knows the truth, through introspection, listening and difficult conversations we can find crumbs of truth. If these drugs work, we will apply these truths to our businesses, whatever the final effect, unless, of course, you think your business needs to make more money to get important work out into the world . But are you taking more than you give if that is the case? Some may call this ego and others truth: it’s a fine line.

I want to ask questions that people will wear on their sleeves in the “psychedelic space”: reciprocity, Indigenous-led wisdom and lineage preservation, the importance of research, ending the war on drugs , equitable access and the dissolution of the ego.

What does reciprocity with master factories look like?

Can we preserve lineages without preserving tribal customs? I was once told that preserving lineages was about making sure the water and environment was clean and abundant so that tribes could thrive on their land instead of having to make money where there is no industry to do it. Everything is linked internally, should we help at the roots?

Indigenous cultures have used these medicines for thousands of years. Should we listen to them or to a doctor who perhaps has a few years of work behind him? Some believe we are credentialing in America because institutions control our education, which serves a purpose and can act as a gatekeeper for people who do not have the same privilege as others. For my part, I prefer and trust the direct experience of people who have worked with such strong force as the factory masters. Others I know prefer a therapist.

How can we amplify and center Indigenous voices in a respectful and consenting way? Is it simply enough to amplify voices or partner with them in a way that gives them decision-making power? Can we live with their decisions?

I think the first thing to do before answering these questions for your business is to look deep into your heart and ask yourself why you are starting or operating a business working with master factories. Is it to change the world or do the most profitable business? Sure, it may be a “Yes, and…”, but being in your truth will help you lead in full if you don’t hide that truth. Own your desires by working with these plants, in the sense of listening and letting go, and then begin to ask and process these questions. Deep in your heart, what is the truth? Be careful when walking the fine line of visions and fantasies. If your desires change, recognize it, because these showpiece plants can teach you a lesson.
