Williams, 24, played collegiately at Syracuse University from 2018-2020 as a defensive back, recording four interceptions during his time with the Orange.

After going unselected in the 2021 NFL Draft, Williams signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agency, but he was waived shortly after and the Miami Dolphins l ‘have demanded.

Williams was active for five regular season games during the 2021 campaign, and he saw action on defense and on special teams in the Dolphins’ season finale.

After tearing his ACL in August 2022, Williams spent the entire 2022 season on injured reserve, and he was waived by the Dolphins in August 2023, effectively ending his football career.

Now, Williams will attempt to travel a path that has been trodden by many, as he transitions from football to wrestling.

Several active professional wrestling stars played football collegiately or in the NFL before making the transition, including WWE’s Roman Reigns, Bron Breakker and The Rock, former WWE Superstar Baron Corbin and current star from TNA Moose.

Many legendary wrestlers of the past have plied their trade on the field before also taking to the squared circle, such as Goldberg, Ron Simmons, Ernie Ladd, Wahoo McDaniel, JBL, Vader, Lex Luger, Brian Pillman, and Steve, member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. “Mongo” McMichael.

Although not all football players who try their hand at wrestling are ultimately successful, the athleticism and toughness needed to play football usually translates well to wrestling.

If Williams wants to excel in wrestling, then he’s in the right place, as he will have the opportunity to learn and develop at the state-of-the-art WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, before potentially debuting under the NXT brand. .
