Kartik Purnima 2024: Rituals (Puja Vidhi)

Devotees begin Kartik Purnima with a ritual bath, believed to purify the soul. They clean their houses, visit temples to pray to Lord Vishnu and light a diya in front of his idol. Many people also gather at the Ganga Ghats to take a holy bath and then engage in various spiritual practices such as havan (fire ritual), yagya, charity and fasting. Observing the Satyanarayan Vrat and lighting the diyas are common practices on this day. Devotees also offer Arghya (water) to the Moon God as part of their prayers.
