Phase 2 of Burnaby Edmonds Traffic Calming Measures Study Underway

Phase 1 of the study began in September.

Burnaby announced the start of Phase 2 of the Edmonds Speed and Traffic Management Study.

The city hopes to better understand speed and traffic issues in the area bounded by Edmonds Street, Kingsway, Canada Way and the New Westminster border at 10th Avenue.

Phase 1 of the study focused on collecting community concerns regarding speed and traffic.

The city says that during the first round of consultations, it gathered valuable feedback from the community regarding specific areas that could benefit from traffic calming measures.

The feedback, used in conjunction with traffic data, helped the city locate potential locations and mitigation strategies.

The main themes, conclusions and recommendations of the phase 1 investigation have been made public online.

In the final phase, the city is now seeking additional feedback on the proposed recommendations.

Residents can share their opinions by completing the Phase 2 survey which is available online until December 8, 2024.

Pop-up informational events where residents can learn more about the project and connect with project teams in person during two scheduled seminars:

  • Saturday November 30 – Edmonds Community Center
  • Tuesday, December 3 – Edmonds Community Center

For more information you can visit the Edmonds Speed and Traffic Management Study webpage or contact the city at 604-294-7440 or (email protected).
