Donald Trump never drinks water and his fast-food diet is like “poison,” according to title-fighter Robert F. Kennedy Jr. the role of the food safety czar in the office of the president-elect.

In a new interview, Mr Kennedy said the food Mr Trump ate on the campaign trail was “really bad”.

And he compared the president-elect’s favorite fast food restaurants, KFC and McDonald’s, to “poison.”

Mr Kennedy, also known as RFK Jr, was expected to become the White House food safety czar in the next administration, after abandoning his own presidential ambitions to support Mr. Trump.

“The things he eats are really bad,” Mr Kennedy told The Joe Polish Show.

“Country food is always bad, but the food that comes on this plane is, like, nothing but poison. You have a choice between — you don’t have a choice, you’re either given KFC or Big Macs. It’s like when you get lucky, and then the rest of the things I consider inedible.

Mr. Trump’s McDonald’s order consists of two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fishes and a chocolate milkshake.

In 2016, he was photographed eating from a bucket of KFC fried chicken with a knife and fork on a private jet.

His drink of choice is Diet Coke. RFK Jr called Dana White, the UFC general manager, telling him that he had “never seen Trump drink a glass of water”“.

“I was with Dana White the other day… he’s very close to Trump, they’ve had a relationship for 20 years through the UFC. He said sometimes he goes to a fight with Trump – and he was ( there for) five hours (during) the fight – and said he never saw Trump drink a glass of water Ever,” he said.

Mr. Kennedy is unlikely to convince the president-elect to change his eating habits, but his main goal if he enters government will be to encourage Americans to reduce their consumption of processed foods.

He had attributed the rise in diseases like diabetes and obesity to poor diet.

To reduce the country’s calorie intake, Mr. Kennedy proposed removing processed foods from supermarket shelves.

Mr Trump said his former presidential opponent would be allowed to “going wild on health care”.

The president-elect has made McDonald’s a key part of his campaign, disputing Kamala Harris’ claim that she worked at a branch of a fast-food restaurant while studying at Howard University in the 1980s.

He visited a McDonald’s restaurant in Pennsylvania to serve fries as part of a campaign stunt.
