Martha Stewart’s prison friend slams her for promising $1 million payout, but failing to pay the money

Martha Stewart’s prison ‘best friend’ has blasted the star for not paying her the $1 million she promised him while they were behind bars initially.

Lisa Guarino claimed the TV personality expressed how “grateful” she was to have a friend like her in prison and promised to give her $1 million upon her release.

“She told my family she didn’t need to put any more money on my books because she was going to take care of me,” Guarino told the Daily Mail.

When Guarino, who was serving time at FPC Alderson in West Virginia for selling coke to support herself and her family, was transferred to another facility, she discovered her account was empty.

“I could have killed Martha when I found out she didn’t keep her word. She told my family that they didn’t have to put any more money into my books because she was going to take care of me, but she gave me a donut, a big fat zero,” he said. -she shared,

“I then had my phone privileges suspended for three months, so I couldn’t ask my family for money. It was hell and I suffered partly because Martha didn’t keep her word.

Since Guarino was released in 2006, she has faced multiple health issues, including being diagnosed with lymphoma and leukemia.

She currently lives on her limited Social Security, about $600 a month, in a $1,900-a-month one-bedroom apartment outside Boston.

Guarino, who claims to have taken Stewart under his wing in prison, is unable to work due to his health problem.

Page Six reached out to Stewart’s rep for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

Stewart served five months in FPC Alderson from October 8, 2004 to March 4, 2005, after being convicted of a felony for lying about a stock transaction.

Meanwhile, the interior designer is currently living her best life, promoting her new Netflix documentary, “Martha”, in which she spoke about her time in prison.

In the document, Stweart said she “dragged to solitary confinement for touching an officer.”
