Sudbury News: Infant Food Bank Launches Holiday Campaign

The “All We Need for Christmas” campaign launched Thursday morning in support of the Sudbury Infant Food Bank.

A local advertising and marketing company, Petryna, started this initiative 16 years ago.

“About 16 years ago, we were looking for a community initiative that we could support that no one was supporting,” said company president David Petryna.

“Our staff looked around and found the infant food bank and said that seemed like a really good cause.”

The holiday campaign raises funds and supplies for area babies and children who need items ranging from formula to diapers and other household necessities.

This year, teams can also create a virtual crèche to collect online donations.

“Currently we serve between 300 and 500 families, but we are seeing an increase in our enrollment,” said food bank director Cherie Bonhomme.

“The cost of living, everyone knows it (is increasing) and everyone is feeling this crisis and our families definitely need more and they need more support.”

Donations can be dropped off at the Infant Food Bank, 1032, boul. Lasalle, Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
