Ozempic has become a buzzword for weight loss, with celebrities and influencers trying it to manage weight. Mainly designed for diabetic people, its popularity exploded on the Internet. But what goes unnoticed behind the glamor of this coveted weight loss drug are the drastic aftereffects. Artemis Bayandor from Illinois, USA, lost weight using Ozempic, but gained twice as much weight after stopping using it. She spoke about her experience with Ozempic in a report on Daily Mail.

Trapped with Ozempic forever

Ozempic may seem like a quick fix for managing weight loss by reducing cravings and increasing feelings of fullness to reduce calorie intake. However, problems can spiral out of control when Ozempic is interrupted. Artemis Bayandor lost almost 6 kg while using it, but when she stopped, her weight increased to almost 12 kg, leaving her almost 7 kg heavier than before. The drug Ozempic reports a substantial rebound in weight when stopped, creating a vicious loop of unhealthy dependence on the drug.

Ozempic targets appetite for weight management by limiting food cravings. However, stopping it can cause cravings to rebound, making it more unhealthy and worrying. Artemis Bayandor spoke to the Daily Mail and revealed: “As soon as I stop taking it, I realize, ‘Oh no, this little portion is not enough.’ I need more. I’m still hungry.”‘ She admitted that her hunger increased several times after she stopped taking the medication, leading her to consume larger portions at dinner than when she was taking the medication.

Apparently, this is not the first case of appetite imbalance after stopping the drug or sudden weight gain. Experts point out that many can gain weight quickly and find themselves back to square one after stopping Ozempic. Remi Bader, a TikTok star, also said she gained twice as much weight after stopping Ozempic. Actress and comedian Tracy Morgan also admitted that the weight has increased significantly.

Eating habits change after stopping this antidiabetic medication. Food portions have increased significantly. Binge eating due to increased hunger appears to be a common side effect after stopping Ozempic. Overeating, feeling “hungry” and switching to larger portions are seen in people who have stopped taking Ozempic, suggesting that these are common side effects.

Other effects of stopping Ozempic

Sudden weight gain may even seem harmless, but it causes even more dangerous and irreversible side effects. Experts found that people who stopped taking these medications showed various signs of poorer health, including higher blood pressure, higher cholesterol levels and an increased risk of heart disease.

Ozempic is essentially an injection, and all fat loss injections work by replicating the effect of a hormone called GLP-1, which promotes feelings of fullness, reduces appetite, and ultimately helps with weight loss. There are many other side effects, such as nausea, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, stomach pain, headaches, and dizziness, and even as serious as hair loss. Side effects also extend to the perilous area, with serious complications including kidney damage, pancreatitis, and stomach paralysis. Even one death has been documented in the UK following a fat loss injection. Susan McGowan, 58, a nurse from Lanarkshire, died in September from multiple organ failure, septic shock and pancreatitis after receiving two low-dose injections of tirzepatide.

Ozempic and other fat management injections can be highly coveted due to the surprising body transformations of celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Elon Musk, Sharon Osbourne, Chelsea Handler and Robbie Williams. However, the insidious health dangers behind these drugs are often overlooked in the pursuit of body goals. Ozempic not only has side effects while you are using it, but also has lasting consequences when you stop it. So think twice before you try this “magic drug”.
