LeBron James Hints at Timeline for Retirement from NBA

LeBron James continues to leave everything on the field, game after game. After his 11th game of his 22nd year in the NBAKing James hints at the timing of his retirement. Having achieved one of his biggest goals, making history with his son Bronny James becoming the leader of the league first father-son duo to share the fieldTHE Los Angeles Lakers the star looks ahead to the future.

Turning 40 next month, the basketball player is still averaging 4.3 points, 9.4 assists and 8.1 rebounds on 52% shooting from the floor, currently leading the Lakers to a 7-4 season. After the game against the Memphis Grizzlies on November 13, James gave a thoughtful response regarding his potential retirement timeline. He told the press: “It’s not me, it’s the spirit.” Wherever my mind is is how the rest of my body is going to go or whatever. I don’t know, I’m not going to play much longer to be completely honest. I don’t know how many years that is, if it’s one year, two years, whatever the case may be. He added: “But I said the other night I’m not going to play until the wheels fall off. I won’t be that guy. I’m not going to be the guy that disrespects the game because I want to be on the field. It won’t be me.
