Wet opening morning, but dry throughout the day

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) – On a day that almost feels like a holiday now, opening day has arrived! If you’re heading out this morning, there’s still some mist and drizzle, so be prepared for humid conditions. The rest of this opening weekend looks a little drier though, details are below. We wish our hunters a safe and successful hunt!

Today

Aside from the mist and drizzle, the clouds have been quite persistent this morning. They will stay like this through the morning, which can make dusk seem a few minutes later than usual. Sunrise is at 7:29 a.m. Hunters, if you have a rain jacket or some sort of rain shell, you may want to take it with you again this morning. Any mist or drizzle should end around 9 or 10 a.m., then the rest of the day from then on will be dry but with mostly cloudy skies. The normal morning low today is 32 degrees, so the 40s we’re currently experiencing are actually quite pleasant for this time of year!

High temperatures today will reach around 52 degrees with a light wind remaining at just 5 to 10 mph. The wind direction is now northwest. The normal high temperature for opening day is 46 degrees.

Friday reaches the lower 50s.

This evening

Mainly cloudy skies will persist overnight with minimum temperatures falling to around 39 degrees. The northwest wind will slow down a bit more as well, becoming really calm at 5 mph.

Depending on the amount of clouds that may dissipate or if they dissipate more than expected, there is a risk of patchy fog forming at sunrise. This is, however, conditional on the amount of any compensation.

Weekend forecast

On Saturday, the weather will be completely dry but the tendency will be a little cloudier. Skies will be partly to partly cloudy with highs reaching 52 degrees. The wind will shift to the south early in the morning but will remain light between 5 and 10 mph. Saturday evening, the minimum temperature will drop to 41 degrees.

Saturday, highs will be in the lower 50s.

Early Sunday morning, a passing disturbance to the north could bring a few isolated showers, but rain coverage (if it can even reach here) appears to be quite limited. Generally speaking, Sunday should still be quite dry but with mostly cloudy skies. We are looking at the possibility of a few showers to the south Sunday evening, but most guidelines have kept these showers far enough south to stay out of our area.

It's a possibility, but most guidelines have kept it just south of our region.

Highs will reach 57 degrees Sunday with a south wind veering to southwest 10 to 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph. Sunday evening, minimum temperatures will fall around 40 degrees.
