A 911 call led police to a North Bay hotel room, leading to the seizure of $130,000 in drugs and the charging of a man.

North Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a hotel on McIntyre Street West on Nov. 9 after an emergency call was disconnected, police said in a news release Friday.

“As part of the investigation, police searched a room in the hotel where the accused was staying. In the room, police observed evidence of drug trafficking,” police said.

“A search warrant was requested, granted and executed.”

Approximately 373 grams of suspected fentanyl, 175 grams of suspected cocaine and 20 suspected five-mg Percocet tablets were seized along with $2,500 in cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

As a result, a 19-year-old local man is charged with three counts of drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of proceeds of crime.

The suspect was remanded in custody pending his bail hearing.
