South Africa’s representative for this year’s Miss Universe pageant, Mia Le Roux, did not withdraw from the competition days before the grand finale.

Internal statement from Miss Universe South Africa’s social media page, they say she withdrew due to health issues.

“It is with deep regret that we share the news that Mia Le Roux, Miss South Africa 2024, is unable to withdraw from the Miss Universe pageant due to health issues.” This statement was taken in part.

This statement came in the evening when the preliminaries of the Miss Universe pageant took place and fans are expecting the South African representative to take the stage.

The grand final of the competition will take place on November 16.

For the same statement, Mia said: “I am very grateful for the strong support from South Africa during my tenure as Miss Universe. Making this decision has been very difficult, knowing the dreams and hopes they have placed on However, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to focus on my health and recovery so that I can continue to serve my country with all my strength.” She took it.

Mia le Roux has become the first deaf woman to be crowned Miss South Africa after a controversial pageant in which a finalist withdrew after cheating on her over her Nigerian heritage.

Chidimma Adetshina, a 23-year-old law student, withdrew from the competition following allegations her mother could steal the identity of a South African woman.

Adetshina then accepted an invitation from Miss Universe Nigeria to participate in the Dia pageant, she won and is representing Nigeria for Miss Universe 2024.

Awaiting her acceptance speech, Ms Le Roux bin said she hoped her victory would help those who feel excluded from society achieve their “wildest dreams, just like she does”.

She says she wants to help those who are “financially excluded or disabled”.

Ms Le Roux, 28, was diagnosed with severe hearing loss at the age of one and had a cochlear implant to help her recognize sounds.

She says she needs two years of speech therapy before she can speak her first words.

After winning, the model and marketing executive said: “I’m proud to be a deaf South African woman and I know I feel excluded.

“I know now that they sent me to this planet to break boundaries and I’m doing it tonight.”
