Jon Jones calls UFC 309 ‘biggest moment of my life’ after KO, doing Trump dance move

UFC Star Jon Jones solidified himself, if he hadn’t already, as the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter in the world Saturday night with a TKO of Stipe Miocic.

Jones delivered a spinning kick to Miocic’s gut, knocking the Ohio native down. Jones finished the job and was victorious, retaining the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Jones then hit President-elect Trump dance move and then handed him the belt.

He called it one of the most memorable nights of his career, with wins over Stephan Bonnar and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

“…And tonight was incredibly special,” he said via MMA fights. “Finir (Daniel Cormier) is there too. Stephan Bonnar was the first star I fought when I was young. Everyone around me told me I was nobody and I didn’t belong there. wouldn’t happen and that I really had to work on it meditation and building my self-esteem for the first time to beat Stephan Bonnar “Shogun” taught me that I could be a big kid, never good at anything, I am. becoming a DC champion, it was just very personal.

“And tonight is the greatest moment of my life. Talking about Jesus in front of our president and letting the world know how proud I am to be an American champion, it was awesome, man. Finally Stipe , it was great.”

Jones mentioned earlier in the press conference whether Miocic’s victory would be the last fight of his career. He said he wanted to take Alex Pereira just ahead of Tom Aspinall and was looking for fights against experienced competitors rather than newcomers.

“If that doesn’t add up, then profess my love for Jesus in front of everyone tonight and tell the world how proud I am to be an American champion and fight in front of my president, man, if that was my last fight. , I’m cool with it. That was the way to do it. I did the “Donald Trump” (dance)… that was the way to do it.
