The Wagatha Christie ordeal is the subtext of the 24th reality series and Wayne RooneyThe woman will be prepared for more jokes and questions from other castaways.

But while the 38-year-old emerged victorious of the high-profile defamation case, his bank balance – with his public profile – should be even higher by the show.

How much do I get paid Celebrity 2024 contestants?

Coleen Rooney is said to earn at least £1.5 million, with potential winnings, for her appearance on I’m a Celebrity, the highest of any participating celebrity in 2024.

The figure could be even higher, reports the Independent, meaning she is likely to take home more than the £1.5million earned by previous record holder Nigel Farage in 2023.

Wayne Rooney, on the other hand, signed his biggest contract with Manchester United in 2013, which saw him earn £15 million a year for six years. However, his wife will only earn her salary in three weeks of work, earning him the highest sum, pound for pound.

Salaries of other 2024 candidates, including Danny Jones, Jane Moore, Maura Higgins and Tulisa have not been revealed.

The Independent speculated that they could be between £50,000 and £200,000.

If the £1.5 million figure is correct, then it is a sign of the inflation of appearance fees offered on the show, as Noel Edmonds was once the highest earner on £600,000. The presenter accepted the fee in 2019, despite only spending a week in the jungle.

In the same year, Caitlyn Jenner was paid £500,000, the same amount as Harry Redknapp commanded in 2018. However, the former football manager proved to be good value for money by going as far as end to win the competition.
