Sonoma and Napa voters, “unpack the election” during our free virtual event

A lot has happened since November 5, which is why our panel of experts is here to help you make sense of it all – and discuss the results of our PD/KRCB exit poll.

At the end of October, hundreds of you attended our “Unwrapping the Ballot” Virtual Eventin which we explained the dozens of election races and questions North Bay voters faced.

At the beginning of November, thousands of you took our “Virtual exit poll” in which you told us why you voted the way you did in the presidential race and spoke out on other election issues.

Now that most, but not all, of the results are in, it seems appropriate that we reconvene to discuss why the various races broke up the way they did, explain which ones remain undecided, and discuss the results of our survey, conducted with KRCB/Northern California Public Media.

We don’t know if we’ll be able to unpack everything in an hour – last time we finished it in 75 minutes – but we’ll try.

“Unpacking the Elections,” our latest free virtual event, will take place on Monday, November 25 at 6 p.m.

To register, go to Pressdemocrat.com/UnpackingTheElection. You will receive an email from Zoom – subject line “Unpacking Election Confirmation” – which will include a link to our November 25 webinar. It will also include a calendar invitation that you can embed so you don’t forget.

Like last time, we have a panel of stars:

Emma Murphyour Sonoma County government beat a reporter, who will break down the races across the county, including measurement Jand also dive into the results of our PD/KRCB survey.

Richard Hertzlongtime public opinion pollster and political science professor at Sonoma State University, who conducted the survey among his SSU students.

Greta Martnews director of NorCal Public Media, who also covered poll and election results.

Jim Sweeneyour PD Editorial Page Director, who will provide insight into how Californians voted for accessories statewide.

Pauline Pinedaour Santa Rosa city government reporter, wrapping up coverage of several races in Sonoma County’s largest city.

Edward Boothour government reporter for the city and county of Napa, who is still awaiting final results from some key races in his territory.

Jennifer Sawneyour Petaluma reporter, who will follow the hot-button city council and school ballot issues in his city.

Friend Windsorleader of our community journalism team, who will provide insight into local races and measures, which had mixed results on Election Day.

The event will work like this: I will go panelist by panelist with basic questions, and you will ask any questions you might have in the chat. We will choose the best ones and ask them to the panelists.

We had a strong turnout last time, so join us again to bring the 2024 election full circle…and open the door to coverage of what will happen with the choices we’ve made locally and nationally in 2025.
