Turner restructures to divide its business and construction services

Contracting giant Turner Construction has announced a corporate restructuring which will see the company split its services into two core business areas which it says will expand its presence in the emerging markets of biopharmaceuticals, bridging energy, data centers and semiconductors.

The company said its longtime executives, Abrar Sheriff and Tom Reilly, have been named presidents of its new construction services and business services lines, respectively. He said the latter is a bifurcation of Turner’s integrated solutions offerings, including its supply chain subsidiary SourceBlue. The executives held positions of executive vice president,

“As our projects increase in size and complexity, we are constantly improving our capabilities,” said Sheriff, who is also Chairman and CEO of Turner International.

As head of the Enterprise unit, Reilly said he would focus on growing the business in new markets. “We will expand SourceBlue, the Turner Engineering Group, our self-performing operations and other innovative services,” he said. The company’s purchase of Irish advanced technology company Dornan Engineering Group is supporting this growth, Reilly added. It is active throughout Europe.

With the promotions of Abrar and Reilly, the company also added seven senior employees to its team. Management group, with Aaron Wiebelhaus promoted to general manager and Lisa Ballantyne elevated to administrative director.

Davoren, who also is president of Flatiron-Dragados in North America, declared restructuring with the management of Sheriff and Reilly “enhances our ability to provide transparent and integrated solutions on our projects and to our clients. »

Turner Construction ranks No. 1 on ENR’s list of Top 400 Contractors in 2024. It reports a project backlog of nearly $33 billion.
