Florence Pugh took matters into her own hands when she was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis, conditions that can make it difficult to conceive children.

Speaking to Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi and women’s rights advocate and influencer Mary Alice Haney on the ELLE MD podcast, Florence explained that learning of her condition ultimately led her to decide to freeze her eggs. The process, while often expensive and uncomfortable, has become much more common in recent years among people in their 20s and 30s who, for whatever reason, are not yet ready to become mothers but want to keep that option open for themselves.

“I had this sudden feeling that I had to go and check everything. I had some weird dreams, I think my body was telling me,” he said. We live in timetar recalled during the conversation.

She then added that when she met Aliabadi, the doctor asked her if she had ever had an egg count, “and I told him, ‘No, what do you mean?’ I’m so young. Why do I need an egg count?’ » The doctor conducted some tests and diagnosed the actor with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis; she therefore advised the actor to freeze his eggs.

“It was so weird because my family is a baby-making machine,” Florence said. “My mother had babies in her 40s. My grandmother had babies all along…And then of course I learned completely different information, at 27, that I needed to remove my eggs and do it quickly, which was just a realization one bit mind-boggling, and which I’m really lucky and happy to have discovered it when I did because I’ve wanted kids since I was a kid.
