Perrysburg extends cannabis trade moratorium

PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WTVG) – The Perrysburg City Council has decided to expand the ban on cannabis businesses within city limits.

Council members passed an ordinance Tuesday evening to extend a moratorium on the granting of any permits authorizing retail dispensaries, cannabis cultivators or processors in Perrysburg. Only one council member voted against the ordinance, Council President Kevin Fuller. He said he thinks it encroaches on the private sector.

“Moratoriums are not a good message, while we are also trying to send a positive message to the business community. I understand the city wants to be tactful in how they approach this,” Fuller told 13 Action News.

The vote took place the same evening council approved rezoning ordinance to allow commercial use of a 24-acre tract of land near Costco in Perrysburg.
