Drivers have been warned to expect significant delays on the M2 in Kent following a serious collision involving a pedestrian on the eastbound carriageway.

It happened between junction 5 near Stockbury and junction 6 for Faversham, around 20:10 GMT on Wednesday.

Police and other emergency services remain on scene and the road is expected to remain closed until midday.

Motorists have been advised to plan alternative routes and check travel updates on the National Highways website.
