Honda Activa Electric revealed with replaceable battery technology ahead of November 27 launch: what to expect

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has once again teased its much-awaited electric two-wheeler, the Honda Activa Electric. Set to debut on November 27, the latest teaser reveals that the Activa E will feature cutting-edge swappable battery technology, promising improved convenience and performance (via HT Auto).

The teaser reportedly features a dual-battery setup for the Activa Electric, a feature previously seen on HMSI’s Benly e electric scooter unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. The Benly e used Honda’s advanced mobile Interchangeable Power Pack batteries, and the same technology appears to have been integrated into the Activa E, highlighting HMSI’s desire to innovate in the electric mobility sector.

As a reminder, a previous teaser revealed that the Activa Electric will be available in two versions, differentiated by their digital instrument clusters. The entry-level variant will come with a basic TFT display, while the top-end version will come with a vibrant multi-color display.

According to several media outlets, the premium variant’s advanced digital display is expected to provide comprehensive information including battery status, remaining range, speed and driving mode. Additional features such as turn-by-turn navigation and music control are also planned, further enhancing the user experience.

THE Active E should also offer a claimed range of 104 kilometers on a full charge in standard mode. A sport mode, designed to offer improved throttle response, will also likely be available, but at the cost of reduced range.

Additionally, the electric scooter is also expected to feature swingarm-mounted motors, a setup seen in competing models such as the Bajaj Chetak and TVS Vida V1. This configuration could support a balance of mid-range performance, making the scooter an attractive option for family buyers.

The teasers also hint at a stylish LED headlight design and a practical seat configuration, suggesting a complete package suitable for everyday use. Although all feature details remain under wraps, the Activa E is expected to include all the essential offerings to meet consumer expectations.
