IISc FSID Innovation Center launches accelerator program for innovation and product development – SME News

Bangalore-based science research institute IISc’s innovation center in deep technology, Foundation for Science, Innovation and Development (FSID) on Thursday launched a Pravriddhi Product Accelerator Program for companies, universities and research laboratories, as well as investors, to collaborate on innovation and new product development. the government’s vision for a self-reliant India.

The institute said Pravriddhi would promote walkdesign-led manufacturing and design to enable India innovate and compete on the global stage.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Professor Govindan Rangarajan, Director, IISc said, “As India strives to achieve ambitious economic and industrial goals, challenges such as dependency on imports, global competitiveness and workforce readiness persist. With Pravriddhi, we aim to address these challenges by providing access to IISc’s world-class facilities, R&D expertise and a strong network of strategic partners across India.

The accelerator will address the challenges of import dependence, global competitiveness and workforce readiness and aim to establish excellence across the country as a force multiplier.

Promoted by IISc, the FSID includes CORELabs which engages with large companies in collaborative research, STEMCell which incubates startups with deep scientific and societal impact, TIME which works with mid-sized companies to put them on a path to growth through innovation, and SEED which works on science and technologybased interventions in rural India.
