Oswestry Post Office closure: Town council calls special meeting to discuss protecting ‘vital community service’

The meeting will consider steps the council can take to protect this “vital community service” following an announcement from Post Office of the possible closure as part of a major overhaul.

The mayor of Oswestry Councilor Mike Isherwood called the meeting.

He said: “Many advisors, Oswestry residents and those in neighboring parishes will be extremely concerned to read that the Oswestry branch of the Post Office is at risk of closure.

“The branch provides a range of important services to our community, and it is essential that these are safeguarded. »

The meeting will take place at the Guildhall on Wednesday 27 November at 7pm.

This is a council meeting that members of the public can attend in person or virtually.

The agenda includes an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions during the public participation section at the start of the meeting, elected members will then discuss the topic at hand.
