The coldest air of the season | Frost Warning in place Thursday evening through Friday for central North Carolina

RALEIGH, North Carolina (WTVD) — Some of the coldest air of the season has moved into central North Carolina.

Friday morning was the coldest morning of the fall so far. The afternoon will be cool, with gusty winds and highs in the lower 50s.

Some of the coldest air of the season arrives tonight and that will be accompanied by a frost watch for central North Carolina.

Initially, a frost watch was issued for the area, which was later upgraded to a frost warning. According to the National Weather Service, a frost warning is issued when there is a risk of significant and widespread freezing temperatures. On the other hand, a frost warning means there are expected to be significant and widespread freezing temperatures.

This cooler weather could last through Saturday, making it cooler for event attendees. ABC11 Raleigh Christmas Parade this weekend.
