Substitute Femi Azeez’s first goal at Millwall helped the Lions salvage a point in injury time against Sunderland.

The Black Cats led Aaron Connolly’s volley in the 10th minute before players were taken off the field for half an hour while medical staff attended to two separate emergencies in the crowd.

The Lions were a transformed team after the break and returning Sunderland keeper Anthony Patterson produced a series of saves to preserve his side’s lead.

But the hosts finally found the goal their pressure deserved in injury time as Azeez collected a cross from compatriot Aidomo Emakhu to extend Millwall’s unbeaten run to eight games.
