IIT Hyderabad partners with Nikon to enhance imaging research capabilities

IIT Hyderabad has partnered with Nikon India, a subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, to establish the ‘Nikon Center of Excellence’ (CoE) on its campus.

This state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide advanced imaging technologies and support innovative research for researchers, visiting scholars and collaborators across India.

Prof. BS Murty, Director, IIT Hyderabad, highlighted the importance of the collaboration, saying, “This partnership with Nikon India aligns with our vision of fostering innovation and creating diverse learning opportunities. »

“The Center will act as a catalyst, inspiring researchers and students to push the boundaries of scientific discovery in various fields,” he added.

NIKON CENTER OF EXCELLENCE DETAILS

The CoE aims to improve the study of biological systems at multiple scales, from individual cells to complex human tissues, paving the way for advances in high-resolution imaging.

It will serve as a hub to strengthen breakthroughs in diverse research areas, including cell biology, tissue engineering and biomedical sciences.

Equipped with advanced Nikon instruments, the center includes the Ti2-E inverted microscope for fluorescence imaging, the TS2FL inverted tissue culture microscope for detailed cellular studies, and the SMZ 800 with a fluorescence accessory for macro imaging .

These tools will enable researchers to conduct cutting-edge experiments with unparalleled precision and clarity.

By leveraging cutting-edge equipment, technical expertise and academic collaboration, the Nikon CoE at IIT Hyderabad is poised to become a leading center for imaging research, addressing critical challenges in biological sciences and beyond.
