Dear Abby: I’m afraid my teenage daughter is too skinny. Is it okay to give him food?

DEAR ABBY: I have a wonderful, intelligent 19-year-old daughter. She is in her first year at university in another city. She has always been extremely skinny. We took her to doctors to resolve this problem. They discovered a vitamin deficiency and suggested she eat more nutritious foods containing the prescribed vitamins.
My question is: is it acceptable to force foods on him after his barely eaten meals? She is immediately full and doesn’t always take her vitamins. I don’t want her to walk away from me insisting she eat more. — MOTHER IN TEXAS

DEAR MOTHER: I do not recommend that you “push” foods to your daughter. If you do, it might cause her to rebel. I think it would be a good idea for you to research eating disorders though, as your daughter might suffer from them.
