He said the Muslim community had no choice but to fight against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.

“The meeting of the Indian Muslim Personal Law Board is being held in Karnataka. The scholars of the Delhi-based Muslim Personal Law Board will also hold a two-day conference to discuss the bill that the central government is trying to bring to bear on the Muslim community in India,” Naseer said. Ahmed told ANI.

“We are the representatives of minorities and the Muslim community in India. We are all requesting the central government to have a discussion on the Waqf Amendment Bill. Alongside the government, the JPC (Joint Parliamentary Committee) is trying also to impose instead of supporting the Muslim community in the face of this legal obstacle,” Ahmed added.

Ahmed, also a Congress MLC, said the central government has formed a JPC and it only comprises leaders of their faction who are working against the interests of the Muslim community in India.

“The central government, which is striving to bring this amendment to the labor law, is not taking into account the views and issues related to the Muslim community,” he said.

“That is why today in Bangalore, members of the Indian Muslim Personal Law Board of Delhi have convened an important meeting to discuss what to do if the central government tries to impose and enforce the Personal Law Act. minority community,” Congress said. » added the chef.

He further said that all stakeholders from the minority community will participate in the meeting and discuss how we can force the central government to reverse the decision instead of applying the amendments to the Muslim community, the political secretary to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Several other issues will be discussed at the meeting, including the investigation into mosques, lynchings, religious freedom and the uniform civil code, he said.

The parliamentary session is expected to begin today, with various issues expected to be discussed, including the Waqf Act (Amendment) Bill. The session will end on December 20.
