Kazakhstan set to expand trade partnership with Croatia

ASTANA – Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on November 22 to discuss strengthening political dialogue and expanding trade relations. According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting took place during Nurtleu’s official visit to Zagreb.

Nurtleu encouraged Croatian companies to explore trade and investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, highlighting promising sectors such as energy, transport and logistics, agriculture, IT, education and tourism.

The officials agreed that the Kazakh-Croatian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Kazakhstan-Croatia Business Council, which will meet in Astana in 2025, should contribute to the establishment of trade ties.

In addition, Nurtleu met with several companies, including INA, one of the largest oil companies in the Balkan region, JANAF, the operator of the Jadranski pipeline system, Rijeka Port, a transshipment hub of goods, and the Jadran-Galenski pharmaceutical laboratory. (JGL).

Representatives of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, which deals with tourism, trade and consultancy services, also participated in the meeting. The participants identified significant potential for joint projects in the fields of energy, transport and logistics, agro-industrial complex, IT, education and tourism.
