New Builders: Transitioning from traditional broadcast equipment to software at CBC Toronto

In this webinar, our presenters will discuss CBC/Radio-Canada’s transition from traditional broadcast equipment to software solutions running on standard IT infrastructure, driven by the need for greater agility in a rapidly changing media landscape.

After successfully transitioning SDI to IP at its Montreal head office, CBC/Radio-Canada began upgrading technology at its Toronto head office, leveraging software applications and cloud architecture.

Over the past few months, CBC/Radio-Canada has been working with the EBU’s Dynamic Media Facility (DMF) group to develop the DMF reference architecture, with the goal of establishing a shared vision among users. This was presented at the IBC, attracting considerable industry interest. Since then, the group has been consulting with key industry players to explore multi-vendor interoperability in this new space. Finally, we look forward to hearing from new manufacturers about how they are integrating DMF into their technology roadmaps.
