NATO strengthens its presence in the Arctic, Baltic, Black Sea and Caspian regions — head of the FSB – Russian politics and diplomacy

MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. NATO’s military threat continues to grow as, in addition to increasing its presence in the Arctic and Baltic Sea region, NATO also seeks to expand its capabilities in the Black Sea and gain access to the Caspian region, said Alexander Bortnikov, head of the Russian army. The Federal Security Service (FSB) has warned.

“NATO’s military threat continues to grow. The alliance is gaining a foothold on the borders of the Russian Federation and Belarus, intensifying its efforts to increase its presence in the Arctic region and the Baltic Sea, seeking to expand its fighting, “intelligence and logistics capabilities in the Black Sea and seeking ways to access the Caspian Sea region”, explained the head of the FSB at the 20th meeting of the heads of security agencies and of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is currently meeting in Moscow.

According to him, a network of American laboratories is working on the implementation of a program aimed at creating biological weapons with selective action, citing as a pretext the need to fight against certain “biological threats”. Meanwhile, some NATO countries are “actively adding fuel to the fire by flooding the opposing camps in the CIS countries with weapons,” Bortnikov added.
