Israel says 20 projectiles passed from Lebanon

“Following the sirens which sounded between 5:26 p.m. (3:26 p.m. GMT) and 5:35 p.m. in the Western Galilee area, around ten projectiles were identified coming from Lebanon,” the army said in a statement, adding that some had been intercepted .

He also said that in another incident, “a suspicious aerial target was identified crossing Lebanon towards Israeli territory”, but that no injuries were reported.

Earlier, the army said it had identified 10 other projectiles crossing Israeli territory, including five intercepted over the coastal city of Haifa.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with top ministers in his security cabinet to discuss the terms of a ceasefire deal brokered by the United States and France.

Israel intensified its aerial bombardments on Lebanon on September 23, mainly targeting Hezbollah strongholds south of Beirut as well as in the south and east of the country.

A week later, it sent ground troops across the border into Lebanon.

The war has killed at least 3,799 people in Lebanon since October 2023, according to the Beirut Ministry of Health, most of them since September.

On the Israeli side, hostilities in Lebanon have killed at least 82 soldiers and 47 civilians, according to the authorities.
