Meta Threads is now testing default feed settings which now allow users to choose

Meta further expands on the latest feature it is available for Topics users can take advantage of this, as the platform now introduces a way for users to choose the default feed they will see on their homepage experiences. This tracking feature follows the recent introduction of Threads’ personalized feeds feature, which gives users the ability to further optimize the content they see online.

The latest version of Meta gives users a better way to control what they see online and make their Threads experience more personal, instead of relying on its algorithmic recommendations.

Threads now tests default flow to appear inline

Threads is now getting a new feature that doubles down on its latest release of custom feeds for the platform as Meta CEO. Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that they are currently testing a way to allow users to choose the default feed they prefer. Previously, users were redirected to the “For You” feed on Threads, which relies on its algorithms to determine what content to display online, based on their activities.

However, the company has allowed users to choose between two feeds, including For You and Next, but the default setting falls to Threads’ algorithm which chooses the content users see.

This is also a timely announcement from Meta and Zuckerberg, as the ability to choose your default feed also includes the latest ‘Custom Feeds’ feature allowing users to create the type of content that will appear on the page reception.

Choose from For you, Next and Custom

Users now have the option to set default feeds on their Threads accounts during this testing phase, meaning some may not yet see the feature available on their experiences.

With this, Meta claimed that it would allow users to choose from three types of summary content on their homepage including For You, Following and Custom Feeds to maximize their online browsing.

Alongside this, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri previously revealed that the team was also revamping Threads’ For You’s algorithmic content that would prioritize more accounts a user follows.

Latest available Meta features on Threads

It was only last October that Meta celebrated a milestone with Threads, as Instagram’s microblogging platform now boasts a massive 275 million user base that continues to grow. Due to the massive user base and engagements on the platform, Meta recently ensured that its latest social media outlet has a content management system available to everyone called “DiscussionsDeck“.

Despite being one of the biggest rivals to Elon Musk’s X, Threads also offers familiar experiences that users can enjoy on the platform that was once a Twitter innovation. These features include the ability to turn off post notifications if users want to ignore all incoming alerts, as well as a way to limit quote posting functionality to prevent unauthorized users from distributing them.

Earlier this year, Meta shared the Threads API to allow developers to create specific experiences to build more apps on the platform, and this is access that Twitter had previously blocked for non-paying developers. Threads is now thriving in the tech industry with regular new features available, including the ability to choose the default feed to display on the homepage, based on preferences.
