Chandigarh: A delegation from a consortium of six Australian universities, led by the country’s Deputy High Commissioner Nick McCaffrey, met Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Wednesday and expressed interest in setting up a campus in Gurugram to offer undergraduate courses.
The Australian delegation also included Mathew Johnston, Minister Counselor for Education and Research at the Australian High Commission, and Professor Simon Biggs, Vice-Chancellor and President of James Cook Universityand representatives from other universities.
Saini welcomed the delegation and assured them of all support from the state government. TNN

A consortium of six Australian universities plans to establish a campus in Gurugram, Haryana, offering undergraduate courses. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini welcomed the proposal and pledged the government’s full support. The campus will offer four-year integrated courses in areas such as software engineering and cybersecurity, awarding Australian university certificates on completion.

The programme, led by Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, aims to immerse students in the traditions of the host state, development and technology.
