Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite processor set for 2025 launch: What to expect from Xiaomi’s next flagship – Technology News

Qualcomm is set to unveil its latest processor, the Snapdragon 8s Elite, in the first quarter of 2025, following the success of its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The new chip is expected to offer a significant jump in performance, powered by Qualcomm’s in-house developed Oryon processor, which has already shown impressive results in benchmark tests, even outperforming Apple in some areas.

According to industry tipster Smart Pikachu (via 91mobiles), the first device to adopt this powerful new chip could be XiaomiThe upcoming Civi 5 from , following a trend set by the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, which was the first to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 last year.

One of the major improvements in the Snapdragon 8s Elite is its transition to a 3nm process, a significant improvement over the 4nm process used in the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This smaller process will allow the chip to operate more efficiently, while maintaining greater efficiency. clock speed of up to 4.32 GHz, a notable jump from the 3.53 GHz peak of the previous Snapdragon 8 Elite. This should result in faster performance, smoother multitasking, and improved gaming experiences.

In terms of RAM, the Snapdragon 8s Elite will support up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM, with a memory speed of 5,300MHz, faster than its predecessors. This increase in memory speed will likely contribute to better responsiveness and a smoother user experience.

The chip will also feature the new Snapdragon X80 5G modem, providing faster and more reliable connectivity compared to the Snapdragon X75 modem of the previous Elite chip. While the official launch is still a few months away, the Snapdragon 8s Elite has already generated buzz, with many anticipating its impact on the mobile industry. If the rumors prove true, Qualcomm’s next flagship chip will set new performance standards, pushing the boundaries of what smartphones can achieve.
