The Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense as well as the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) made decisions aimed at further expanding allied relations and discussed the military-political situation in the area of ​​responsibility during a meeting of the organization in Astana, the CSTO reported. his Telegram channel.

The meeting was also attended by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and CSTO Joint Chief of Staff Andrei Serdyukov. The meeting participants exchanged views on the military-political situation in the collective security regions, reviewed cooperation and discussed prospects for the development of the collective security system,” the report reads. .

“Particular attention was paid to preparations for the joint celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945,” the organization noted.

The meeting participants approved a number of documents submitted to the CSTO Collective Security Council and “made decisions aimed at further expanding allied relations, improving foreign policy coordination and strengthening collective forces of the CSTO”.

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov attended the meeting from the Russian side.

Following the joint meeting, a wide range of other agreements were signed. It included more than 17 draft decisions, including the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council on strengthening allied relations within the CSTO and on a number of military issues.
