Manchester City commissions Pep Guardiola statue as ‘fitting tributes’ discussed for legendary Etihad Stadium manager

Officials at the Etihad Stadium are planning the best way to celebrate Pep Guardiola’s achievements for the day he finally decides to leave Manchester City.

The 53-year-old was at the center of long-running speculation over his future at the Etihad Stadium and whether he would again extend his contract with the reigning Premier League champions for a 10th season at the club.

Such was the uncertainty surrounding his position that reports from across Europe were already listing names that Manchester City could consider as suitable replacements for the legendary Catalan tactician.

However, as has been the case in his previous two extensions, Guardiola held discussions with key members of the club’s hierarchy to extend his stay for a further two years in November, despite reports pointing to one year with an option an additional 12 months.

Despite the extended stay of Manchester City’s greatest head coach, and perhaps the greatest manager of all time, members of the club continue to plan the best possible way to mark his reign as manager of the club.

It is further revealed this possible site could see it incorporated into Manchester City’s new North Stand redevelopment, which is expected to be completed and in action during the 2025/26 season.

THE the same report also reveals that a number of other “fitting tributes” to the club’s most successful manager are being discussed, while Manchester City have also not decided anything regarding the new stand and whether he could take the name of the Catalan.

Pep Guardiola himself is currently facing his worst form as Manchester City manager since arriving in the summer of 2016, but he will no doubt relish the challenge of leading his players back to their ultimate results glory.

Tuesday night’s 3-3 draw against Feyenoord in the UEFA Champions League at the Etihad Stadium meant Manchester City failed to win six matches in a row, losing five in a row before squandering a three-goal lead against the Dutch team at home. .

Things certainly aren’t getting any easier for Guardiola and his players either, as they travel to Merseyside on Sunday afternoon for a Premier League title showdown with rivals Liverpool at Anfield.
