UEL: I will never forget this in my career – Amorim on Man Utd’s 3-2 win against Bodo/Glimt

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim says he will never forget the welcome he received from Old Trafford fans during the 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League .

Amorim took charge of its first home game Thursday night.

The 39-year-old oversaw a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town last Sunday.

Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring in the first minute, before Bodo/Glimt turned the match around with two goals from Hakon Evjen and Filip Zinckernagel in four first-half minutes.

But Rasmus Hojlund’s double sealed a first victory for Amorim.

“Half the stadium doesn’t know me, I come from Portugal and I haven’t done anything for this club. Yet the way they make me feel at home is special. I will keep this until the end of my career.

“It was a real adventure. We started well but then conceded two goals in transition. I like the way the players tried to play our game.

“Sometimes we have won the ball and have had problems in the past giving the ball away too much – the mindset is to keep the ball. They are really trying and I think we deserved the win,” Amorim said at TNT Sports.
