Detroit’s Belle Isle Conservatory will reopen in December

DETROIT – Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory in Belle Isle reopens after being closed to visitors for two years.

The conservatory is scheduled to open on Wednesday, December 4, according to a social media post from the Belle Isle Conservancy.

“Today we are pleased to announce that the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory will reopen on December 4th! A true gem, ready to welcome visitors again,” the message reads.

It will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday.

The Conservatory closed in November 2022 to undergo a $10 million renovation.

This work was the final phase of the conservatory’s renovations and included updating the upper 60 feet of its 80-foot glass dome.
