Here’s how much money can be made at Ally Pally this year

Players at the 2025 World Darts Championship can win big money this year at Alexandra Palace. The 96 players will split up to £2.5 million between them. This amount is almost forty times higher than during the very first edition of the PDC World Championship in 1994. At the time, the prize pot made up of £64,000.
Since then, the prize money offered for darts has continued to increase. In 1999, more than £100,000 in prize money was distributed for the first time at the World Darts Championship. In the 2010 edition, the £1 million mark in prize money was reached and since the 2019 World Darts Championship, the total prize pool now contains £2.5 million in prize money.

The 64 participants who start the first round of the World Darts Championship will receive £7,500 in guaranteed prizes. The top 32 on the seed list are guaranteed £15,000. These players will enter the World Darts Championship from the second round.

Whoever advances to the third round will receive £25,000 in guaranteed prizes. After the Christmas holidays, prize money increases significantly. A place in the round of 16 already brings in £35,000 and for the quarter-finalists £50,000 awaits.

For semi-finalists, the prize money won goes into the six figures. Players in the final four can add £100,000 to the world rankings. In the final, up to £700,000 in prize money will be distributed. The runner-up receives a check for £200,000, while the world champion walks away with a mind-blowing £500,000 prize.

The prize money earned counts toward the PDC Order of Merit. This ranking is considered the world ranking at the PDC. The rankings are based on player performances over a 104-week period. Winning the world title is usually good for a solid position in the top four of the world rankings.
