Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to meet with House Republicans next week to discuss DOGE

WASHINGTON – Businessmen Elon Musk And Vivek Ramaswamy will meet with House Republicans next week to discuss, among other things, federal government spending cuts.

This decision comes as the two men were requested by the president-elect Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Effectiveness. Asset wrote in a statement that the new department’s goal will be to “dismantle government bureaucracy, cut excessive regulations, cut wasteful spending, and restructure federal agencies – all of which are essential to the ‘Save America’ movement.”

House Speaker Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La., shared onformerly Twitter, which will welcome the duo on December 5.

“Looking forward to hosting @elonmusk And @VivekGRamaswamy next week on Capitol Hill to discuss key reform ideas aimed at achieving regulatory repeals, administrative reductions and cost savings – and reviving the principle of limited government! @realDonaldTrump made this possible! Johnson wrote.

In a Wall Street Journal editorial, Musk and Ramaswamy presented his reform project the federal government under the new department, which included overseeing a massive reduction in the federal workforce.

“DOGE intends to work with agency appointees to identify the minimum number of employees required in an agency for it to carry out its constitutionally authorized and statutorily mandated functions,” they wrote in the editorial .

Musk and Trump previously met with House Republicans in a closed-door meeting in November, during which Trump endorsed Johnson for a second term.
