Full list of Kaizer Chiefs players OUT OF CONTRACT in June

Six Kaizer Chiefs players will be out of contract in June and many of them are unlikely to renew.

In July, the Soweto giants signed Nasreddine Nabi as the new head coach and the Tunisian has made notable changes to the club. Under his leadership, Amakhosi have won four of their opening seven league matches and are currently sixth in the Betway Premiership..

Kaizer Chiefs have six players out of contract at the end of the season

With the January transfer window opening in four weeks, Kaizer Chiefs are more likely to attract new players. This will ultimately mean that those soon to be out of contract could either be sold or allowed to leave for free.

We take a look at six Kaizer Chiefs players whose contracts will expire next year in June.

Yusuf Maart

The 29-year-old hasn’t been at his best this season but in the last two matches he has shown improvement. Nabi has backed his vice-captain to improve this season, which could earn him a contract extension.

Amakhosi will recruit new players in January

Edmilson Dove

The Mozambican utility player is currently injured and may have to fight for his place in the team. it remains unlikely that Kaizer Chiefs will extend Dove’s contract given he is yet to play this season.

Edson Castillo

The 30-year-old suffered an injury that kept him sidelined for months. Before his injury, he showed flashes of brilliance and could have a chance to fight for his place in the team once he recovers. Nabi has shown his confidence in himself and it won’t be a surprise if Kaizer Chiefs offer him a new contract

Ranga Chivaviro

The 31-year-old striker is one of Nabi’s favorites. Having already scored three goals this season, it won’t be a surprise to see Ranga extend the stay of its leaders by a year or two. In the last two matches, however, he lost his place to the in-form Ashley du Preez.

Georges Matlou

Matlou has not played this season due to injury. He will probably leave in January as Nabi doesn’t seem to have any plans for him.

Reverend Frosler

The right-back is a regular at Nabi and will likely negotiate a new contract with Kaizer Chiefs in the coming months.
