Heartbreak as tributes pour in for ‘lovely’ beauty technician, 20, who died suddenly at Belfast nightclub amid inquest

TRIBUTES are being paid to a “beautiful” young woman who died suddenly at a Belfast nightclub this weekend.

Police were alerted to an incident at Lux nightclub, on Dunbar Street, Belfast city center, at around 2.20am on Sunday, in response to reports that two women had fallen unconscious.

Emergency services, firefighters and police attended the scene.

Sadly, one of the women, aged in her 20s, was found deceased upon arrival and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other woman was hospitalized for treatment.

Chloe Ferris, aged in her 20s, has been named as the woman who died.

It is understood that Ms Ferris was a beauty technician from Belfast.

An obituary described her as the “beloved daughter of Declan and Sharon, beloved sister of Christopher, Declan and Barry, beloved aunt, niece, cousin, member of the ‘Sister Squad’ and friend by a lot.”

Tributes are pouring in for the young woman, whom many describe as “beautiful inside and out”.

A friend said: “The kindest friend with the purest soul. Glad to have been your friend. »

Someone else said: “Heartbreaking. Chloe was the most beautiful person, inside and out.”

“Thinking of his friends and family at this very sad time.”

Enhance Belfast, a beauty training academy, described her as a “lovely” student.

In an online post, they wrote: “Absolutely heartbreaking, our lovely student Chloe.

“I send so much love to his family and friends.”

No one should ever go out at night without going home. »

St Clare’s PS in Belfast, Ms Ferris’s former primary school said: “I am thinking of one of our former pupils who died suddenly today, Chloe Ferris.

“Deepest condolences to his mother, father and brothers at this heartbreaking time, from all staff, past and present.”

The other woman is believed to be a friend of Ms Ferris and remains in hospital.

Police are investigating the incident and investigations are believed to be in their early stages.

Sinn Fein councilor Claire Canavan called it “devastating”.

She said: “It is absolutely tragic that a young woman has lost her life so suddenly. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the Ferris and Dynes families and friends as they come to terms with this heartbreaking news.”

SDLP councilor Gary McKeown said: “This is terrible news and my thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased woman.

“For something like this to happen is tragic, but it’s particularly poignant at this time of year.”

“AN ABSOLUTE TRAGEDY”

Sinn Fein West Belfast MP Órlaithí Flynn added that the incident had left her “shocked and saddened”.

She said: “This is an absolute tragedy, and I want to send my deepest condolences to this woman’s family and friends who woke up today to this unthinkable and heartbreaking news.

“My thoughts are also with another woman and her loved ones as she remains in hospital today undergoing treatment.

“Police have asked anyone who could help with their investigation to contact them.”

Hospitality Ulster chief executive Colin Neill said it was distressing news, saying: “No one should ever go out at night without going home.

“While we await further information, we express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased woman. Our thoughts are also with the woman who remains in hospital.
